On the 19th of March, our two fantastic new buildings were offically opened. The Paap/Sturgeon Multipurpose Hall and the state-of-the-art Multimedia Centre are great assets to our students and indeed, the entire school community. They will complement the fully completed upgrade of every classroom including Interactive White Boards, carpets and repaint throughout. Our great school just got greater!

The State Government today announced it would extend the Queensland Ready Readers program by providing free reader training for parents of Prep-Year 3 students to support children’s literacy development.

The Queensland Ready Readers program is a key element of the State Government’s A Flying Start for Queensland Children initiative which looks at the future of education and highlights the importance of parents reading to their children.
 
Through the training, parents will have the opportunity to learn strategies which they can use at home to support their children’s reading.
 
Strategies such as book selection and language development help build a child’s confidence, motivation, enjoyment and a strong foundation for successful reading.
